Weka Collage

Today we made a collage on a google drawing. I did mine of a weka. We had to do a bird that is native to New Zealand. To make the collage we had to use the mask tool to make the pieces into shapes. I have put a border on all the pieces to make it easier to see.

Camp Thank You Letter

Dear Keiran,

Thank you for coming on the hike with our class. We all had a great time on camp. Did you enjoy going on the hike? My favourite part of camp was searching for Brian and going on the tramp. For the tramp we went to the Anti Crow Hut Walk but you probably already know that. When we searched for Brian we had to find clues about him like his drink bottle and his backpack and stuff. He was also addicted to minties so we found a lot of mintie wrappers. It was also fun talking to Brian’s mum Justine (which was just Charlie’s mum).

A challenge for me was doing the river crossing and doing the hike. Something I found out about myself was that I am good at reading maps. I enjoyed spending time with Nathan K, Callan, Tyler, Charlie and Ethan because they are my friends and they are funny. The best food was the Nachos and the baking. Schools should continue to do camps because they are really fun and everyone enjoys themselves. Other places I would like to go on school camp would be Wellington or Dunedin.

Enlargement Of Patterns

Today we had to draw patterns in either a 3cm x 3cm or 4cm x 4cm. I chose 3cm x 3cm and then I had to enlarge it by a scale factor of 3 and fill the page. Here is my work.

Multi Link Block Work

Today we made multi link models with 8-10 blocks and we had to draw the front view, left view, right view, and top view. Tyler had to try make it from multi link blocks. Then we had to make it on isometric paper. Below is my work.

The Incredibly Magical Terrificly Awesome Market (Tim-Tam)

As soon as I walked through the front gates I could see stalls selling everything a person could ever need. I could see soaps, foods, furniture, old DVDs and CDs, and much more. Everywhere I looked someone was examining something to see if they wanted to buy it or not. The marquees were as colourful as a multi colored quilt.

The market was bustling with people; everyone busily doing their own thing like some busy bees working in a hive. It sounded like a cinema full of excited teenage girls about to watch a brand new movie featuring Justin Bieber. There were babies crying and adults arguing about what to get and how to enjoy themselves. I could feel happiness in everyone I saw.

The fruit and vegetables that the salesmen were selling were as colourful as a rainbow when you are looking through a stain glass window. There was a person with chocolate sauce all over their face, there was also a DJ playing music that had a bucket on his head. There was just everything that you could imagine all squashed into this public carpark and topped off with sunshine. What more could you want??

Carving DLO

These past two weeks, we have been doing a carving unit. We tried to make our own carving with soap which is on this DLO we also made. Here is our work.

Hypothermia DLO

These few days, we made a DLO about hypothermia. This is the slideshow we made. We were doing this learning because we are going on camp.

Quick Writes Term 4

We have been working on Quick Writes. This is where you are given something to write about (a writing prompt) and you only have 10 minutes to write as much as possible using this writing prompt. For our writing prompts we will use either images or short videos.

1)FIREWORKS

Fireworks

As the fireworks erupted from the museum, the smell was insanely strong. It smelt of gunpowder and ash like in a warzone. I watched the karaka (orange) fireworks burst from the building. It looked like a fire or a terrorist attack that was completely obliterating the building. The crowd was amazed by all the fireworks. It sounded like gunfire shattering the silence. It surprised lots of people watching and I knew this because there was a big yell that sounded like they were startled. Anyone inside the building would feel blinding or suffocated by all the smoke. The crowd was going chaotic and yelling. The smoke was smothering and surrounding everyone now and it was heavy and dense. I put my hand in the smoke and it was hot and fluffy. It was wonderful.

2)TOMATO PULP

Tōmato (tomato) Whawhai (fight)

I ran over to where the tōmato (tomato) whawhai (fight) was commencing. The annual fight happens in a Spanish village called Bunol, near Valencia. There were tomatoes everywhere and I was already getting them stuck in between my toes. I picked one up and threw one at someone standing about 5 meters away from me. They spun around and threw one at me. There were more people coming now and the fight was on! There were flying tomatoes everywhere whizzing right past my head like bullets in a war. Some people were wearing goggles to protect their eyes. I felt the seeds going in between my toes. It was disgusting!

3)SPIDER MAN

Spiderman

As I walked over to the Spiderman parade I saw confetti flying everywhere. I could hear lots of noise of people talking to each other and yelling. There were lots and lots of different colours everywhere. It was in New York City and there was kai (food) and the aroma of petrol. I could smell smoke and food everywhere. I could hear cars and buses zooming everywhere. It was wonderful.
