The Guardian Of A Mysterious Swamp

In 1848 there was a mysterious swamp in the middle of a  random forest near Moisty
Mire.This perplexing swamp was very odd because sometimes furniture comes out of it.

One day little Red Riding Hood was walking through the forest and saw some soft
purple carpet that was as moldy as 100 year old bread next to a swamp. She sprinted
furiously and went to bring her granny to view the problem. When she arrived at her
granny’s house she wasn’t there so she fetched her butterfly catching net and sprinted
furiously back to the mystery swamp. The oak trees were wailing and dancing rapidly
in the breeze.

When she appeared at the swamp the purple carpet was gone but there was a ginormous
chair and a slimy, green taniwha that looked like a fat elephant sitting on the chair. At
the sight of little Red Riding Hood he dived into the mystical swamp. Little Red Riding
Hood scooped her butterfly net into the dark, slimy water but the taniwha wrapped his
scaly tail around it and yoinked it out of her grasp. Then the taniwha emerged from the
water with a silicone spatula and started intensely smacking little Red Riding Hood with
it.

She ran away and never came back again until years later. When she was 107 she was walking through the forest and saw the magical swamp again. She had completely forgotten about the swamp because she was very old but she still had the scar of the silicone spatula on her leg.

She walked up to the strange swamp and there was a wooden table lying on its side next
to the swamp. Then the taniwha came out and threw lemons and oranges and salt at her
until she sat down and started crying because the taniwha got her clothes dirty.

Then the taniwha tightly grabbed little Red Riding Hood by the toes and quietly
dragged her into the swamp and cooked her at 220o C for breakfast and the wrinkly
sweaty toes were the best.

The Incredibly Magical Terrificly Awesome Market (Tim-Tam)

As soon as I walked through the front gates I could see stalls selling everything a person could ever need. I could see soaps, foods, furniture, old DVDs and CDs, and much more. Everywhere I looked someone was examining something to see if they wanted to buy it or not. The marquees were as colourful as a multi colored quilt.

The market was bustling with people; everyone busily doing their own thing like some busy bees working in a hive. It sounded like a cinema full of excited teenage girls about to watch a brand new movie featuring Justin Bieber. There were babies crying and adults arguing about what to get and how to enjoy themselves. I could feel happiness in everyone I saw.

The fruit and vegetables that the salesmen were selling were as colourful as a rainbow when you are looking through a stain glass window. There was a person with chocolate sauce all over their face, there was also a DJ playing music that had a bucket on his head. There was just everything that you could imagine all squashed into this public carpark and topped off with sunshine. What more could you want??

Focus

We are continuing to look at descriptive writing. This week you are writing a descriptive piece of writing to
promote your imaginary planet. You aim is to convince people to move to your planet. You want your
writing to allow the reader to be able to imagine what it is like on your planet.

First, we will look at an excerpt of a video describing the moon from the Avatar movie. Click here to get to

Second, we will discuss together what you will need in your work to make it successful and look at how to
plan our work. Then you will plan your work and check with a teacher before you start writing.

Third, do your piece of writing.

Fourth, complete your piece of writing. Remember to proof-read (check spelling and punctuation) and edit
(does it make sense? do you need to change any sentences?) yourself and with a buddy and fill in your self
and peer-assessment. Check it with a teacher.

Jupra 1087

One day a space shuttle with only one crewman called Nathan Johnson left on board (the rest had died)
discovered a new planet in the Tree Trunk Star System called Jupra 1087, 57.38 miriona (million) light
years away from our solar system but he died as soon as he saw it from old age.

To get there you have to go in a special coma to survive because it takes so long to get there. It takes about
79 years so it is hard to survive on the way. The space shuttle can only be put on autopilot because you
need an experienced pilot but they would die because they would need to be at least 40 years old.

There are many different types of animals and creatures that have different names like Euroyeet that
looks like a tiger mixed with an ape. There are also many more animals like the Rhinoksoursee and
the Hedgebanger. The atmosphere on Jupra 1087 is just enough oxygen for the animals and creatures
to survive but humans need special space suits that are available for purchase at Do Duck In Bakery
for $12.70. People got all this information from going there and coming back to Earth (although most
people stay there because it is beautiful) and telling everyone about it but only I believed them, everyone
else thought it was made up.Jupra 1087 looks like a ātaahua (beautiful) planet with mostly crystal clear
wai (water) and massive

rainforests and lush green grass fields. There are many beaches across all the coasts of the islands.
The sand at the beaches is softer than anything on Earth. It is about 10 times as soft as the softest pillow.

People should go there because it has got awesome caves and nice places to stay. It is the best holiday
place in the universe but it is very expensive to go there. People that go there get a good education
because they have brilliant schools but it is hard to understand people sometimes because of the space suits.

MY 👃IHU (nose)👃

I like my ihu (nose) because it can smell my favourite food. My nose is soft like a pillow. The freckles on my nose are speckles everywhere. It gets creases when I am angry. It goes as red as a tomato when I am cold. My nose fits perfectly on my face. I like to call my ihu (nose) the ‘naughty 👃nosy👃 neighbour’. I like to use my nose to meet people at a marae with a hongi. I like to rub my nose on my soft cat. I like to touch my nose on a cold surface. I like to use my ihu (nose) to do funny things.
